On the first weekend of December Matt joined five other drivers in a turbocharged Scion tC sedan and 66 other cars for the longest endurance race in North America, the NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Willows, California. The car, conceived by Marshall Pruett Motorsports Engineering and sposored in part by Modified Magazine and Molecule Labs, was delayed during construction to the point that the team was unable to do any pre-race testing. The result, as is usually the case, was parts breakage, and lots of time in the pits for repairs. Hard work from a dedicated pit crew overcame every obstacle, however, and the car reached the finish 49th overall, and 9th in class. When the car was functional, it was a rocket! Check it out for yourself.
On the MPME web page you can use the video player to review the episode of SPEED program "Redline TV" that focuses on the team's weekend, as well as on-board footage of Matt and teammate Tanner Foust at the wheel. As you'll see, Matt takes no prisoners in traffic! Enjoy.
